Finance Intern

This position is ideal for a highly responsible individual interested in maintaining the fiscal operations of a non-profit student newspaper. The Finance Intern should have the ability to multitask and work in a fast-paced, detail-oriented environment. The ideal candidate would be a team player with strong communication, analytical, and organizational skills. The individual would be expected to work 4-8 hours/week, and schedules are flexible. No prior finance or accounting experience is required, although it is preferred.


  • Review newspaper online and print data
  • Enter client orders and financial information into accounting software (i.e. QuickBooks)
  • Produce production and revenue reports and projections
  • Communicate with advertisers and clients
  • Prepare financial statements

Knowledge, Skills and Experience:

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office programs, particularly Excel
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment
  • Ability to multitask and analyze data
  • Customer service oriented
  • Detail-oriented self-starter with strong communication, analytical, and organizational skills
  • Team player
  • Major in Economics or Business is a plus
  • QuickBooks experience is a plus
