Account Executive

About the Position

The sales team is responsible for securing advertising contracts with high-profile companies to ensure The Daily Californian’s financial success.

As an Account Executive, you will build and maintain key relationships with our current and potential advertising clients. Our team’s goal is to identify new revenue growth opportunities and foster mutually beneficial partnerships with local and national businesses. Communication skills are a must as you work with our other business departments, such as Marketing, Distribution, and Production, to seek opportunities to provide greater value to your clients.

Applicants should be motivated, persuasive, resilient, and persistent. Strong candidates can learn quickly, listen carefully to craft tailored solutions for clients, and have a leadership and mentorship history. No previous experience with sales or technical tools is necessary.

  • Analyze business profiles and trends using historical QuickBooks data to develop comprehensive, data-informed growth strategies.
  • Strengthen relationships with our clients by communicating regularly through interactions in our CRM database.
  • Be familiar and passionate about The Daily Californian’s offerings to tailor solutions to client needs appropriately.
  • Handle both inbound and outbound sales prospects to convert interest into a deal. Commission awarded per deal closed.

Work Requirements

  • 100 clients to contact per week (may vary)
  • Mandatory weekly individual check-ins
  • Mandatory biweekly team meetings

Leadership Opportunities

Account Executives have the opportunity to advance as Senior Sales Associates, Assistant Sales Managers, or Sales Managers.
