Day Production Designers
The Daily Californian’s Production Department works with the editorial and business arms of the newspaper.
Day producers work afternoon shifts collaborating with the Sales and Design departments to produce a preliminary dummy layout and design an occasional ad for our advertisers. You’d also have the option of joining Production’s long-term creative project teams to design projects like our annual Food and Drink Guide or the Year in Review!
Responsibilities include: creating the newspaper dummy for regular and special issues, working on semester-long project teams, collaborating with members throughout the Daily Cal, designing and scheduling online ads.
Day Producers work a maximum of 5 hours per shift per week, flexibly scheduled between M-F 12pm to 5pm.
