About
Mobile developers will join a small, fast-paced team dedicated to bringing The Daily Cal to mobile platforms by the end of this semester.
The Daily Californian is looking to expand the publication’s platform by developing native mobile applications to engage readers and robustly deliver the news. As a developer on the team, you will identify and address areas of improvement in the user interface and functionality of the mobile app, oversee beta tests and rapidly iterate upon user feedback, and develop new features to prepare the app for release.
We’re looking for detail-oriented individuals who can build quickly while keeping user experience and best practices in mind. The app is not fully matured, so team members are expected to take ownership of the product and set quality standards for future mobile developers. Expect to work closely with other developers, designers, and our marketing team. Developers are expected to spend at least 4 hours per week working on this project, in addition to attending a weekly meeting.
